Produce more. Conserve more.

Take Action

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), more than a billion people on our planet currently do not have enough to eat. That’s nearly one out of every six people. Countries around the world face major challenges when it comes to food production, such as having little suitable land for farming or extreme weather conditions that impact crop yields. Unfortunately, many of these issues occur in the poorest countries where a steady food supply is needed the most.

Year after year, drought leads to crop failure, hunger and poverty in Africa. That’s why the Water Efficient Maize for Africa (WEMA) partnership – led by the African Agriculture Technology Foundation (AATF) and supported by AATF’s partners like the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, The Howard Buffett Foundation, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Monsanto and the national agricultural research agencies of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa – was created: It is a response to a growing call by African farmers, leaders and scientists to address the effects of drought in a way that is cost effective to African farmers.

Watch the video to the right, and then pledge your support for helping Africa’s farmers produce enough food to feed their villages today, tomorrow and for many years to come.
